Adeyemi Babawale Akin

Adeyemi Babawale Akin is an esteemed scholar who holds a PhD in Geography from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife. He started his academic career in 2013 and has since made substantial contributions to his profession with numerous articles in respectable journals both within Nigeria and outside. His active participation in the academic community is shown in his attendance at various local and international conferences, which broadens his knowledge and fosters worldwide scholarly collaborations. Adeyemi has exhibited leadership and administrative expertise by serving as Deputy Director of Directorate of Quality Assurance, Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo. His scientific work is predominantly on Geography, with particular interests in Geographic lnformation Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, Land Resource Management, and Sustainable Development. His function as an instructor and researcher is defined by a dedication to improving geographic knowledge while preserving academic quality standards.

Prof Jacob Kehinde AYANTAYO

Ayantayo, Jacob Kehinde (Ph. D), is a Professor of Religious Ethics, Religion and Society, Religious Peace and Conflict Studies at the Department of Religious Studies, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, but also an adjunct Professor in the Department of Religion and Peace Studies, Lagos State University, Ojoo, Lagos State. Professor Ayantayo, a MacArthur grant recipient and visiting Professor to Universitat Bayreuth, Germany 2006   has over 80 published articles and books in both local and international publication outfits on a number of issues regarding the interface between religion and politics, economy, environment, conflicts, church activities, education, gender, ethnicity, language, and technology among others. Two of his scholarly books, which have received tremendous market acceptability not only in the Nigerian Universities and Seminaries but also in Ghana, Cameron and Kenya are Fundamentals of Religious Ethics and Rudiments of Research and Research in Religious Studies. This same goes for his popular inaugural lecture entitled “Rescuing God from His Abductors”.  Professor Ayantayo belongs to many local and international professional bodies and learned associations and in fact founded one, that is, the African Society for the Study of Sociology and Ethics of Religions. He is a social critic and a radical public speaker who has delivered lectures in many media and religious centres across the six geographical zones in Nigeria. His earnest desire, which he does with passion, is to create through his writings, a society that is morally conscious towards moral development of all and for all. Oluwaseun Mercy Olaleye

Oluwaseun Mercy Olaleye PhD is a Senior Lecturer with specialization in Migration and Population Studies at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo. Her ongoing research interests include migration/mobility, rural, gender and cultural studies at both internal and international levels. Oluwaseun is a member of many academic and professional bodies across the globe. Having over two decades of experience in teaching and research across all educational levels, she is very passionate about bringing innovation into research and teaching. She loves to be a functional part of academic discourses which is why she has organized, attended and participated in several academic conferences, seminars and workshops both on the national and international levels.In her quest to become a world-class scholar, Oluwaseun has travelled to several countries such as Benin Republic, Ghana, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, United States of America, Sweden, The Netherlands and United Kingdom to present her research works at academic conferences. Dr Olaleye has to her credit edited books, chapter contributions and journal articles in both national and international platforms. She is enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking. She loves activities that challenge and bring out the best in her while she strives to contribute her quota everywhere she finds herself. She is the Principal Lead Associate of the Centre for Development Issues in Africa (CENDIA) and Senior Associate/ Head of Training and Retention with NegotiumPros. Prof. (Mrs.) Augustinah ‘Nireti Duyilemi

Prof. (Mrs.) Augustinah ‘Nireti Duyilemi is a Professor of Science Education with her research interest on empowering the youth, especially the girl child. She retired from Adekunle Ajasin University as the Dean, Faculty of Education, Dean Student Affairs and member of Council in AAUA Ondo state in 2018. She is currently the Director of Gender Studies Centre and Town and Gown Relations in University of Medical Sciences in Ondo City, Ondo state.
Prof. Duyilemi had her Ph.D. in Science Education at the University of Ibadan in 1997. Prof. Duyilemi has published 80 articles in reputable journals at both local and international levels and has supervised many students at Masters and Ph.D. levels. She was a Resident Guest Researcher with the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) in Nairobi, Kenya from April/June 2005. Her research on Pedagogical Strategy of a constructivist approach has helped to improve the performance of girls in Science Technology and Mathematics at SSCE levels.
She also hosted an International conference on Role Modelling sponsored by (FAWE) showcasing successful women in ( STEM) to young scientists in the university and secondary schools in Ondo and Ekiti State. This has helped to catch the interest of the young girls in(SMT) at all levels of education. She is also a member of many professional bodies such as the Science Teacher Association of Nigeria, Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria, Gender Science and Technology, Organization of Women in Science, Forum for African Women Educationalist, National Association of Professional Educators among others. The seasoned Professor of Science Education has traveled across the Continent to present her research works in countries like Ghana, South Africa, Singapore, Kenya, Denmark, U S A and within Nigeria. She was a consultant to Ministry of Education and Youth Affairs Ondo State on empowering the Youths, especially the girl child.

Prof Michael Olufemi ASHAMO

Prof Michael Olufemi ASHAMO is a professor of Entomology at the Department of Biology, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He had his elementary education in Kwara State where he attended both St Andrew’s Primary School, Oro, and St James Primary School, Iludun-Oro, before proceeding to the prestigious Government Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State. He later secured admission into the University of Ilorin in 1984 to study Zoology and he graduated in 1988 with Second Class Honours, Upper Division. After the compulsory National Youth Service at former Bendel State, he returned to the University of Ilorin in 1989 for his Masters’ programme. He obtained his Master of Science degree (M.Sc) in Crop Production (Applied Entomology) in 1991. During this period, he won the Federal Government of Nigeria Postgraduate scholarship for his masters’ degree. He taught Biology briefly at Aran-Orin Comprehensive High School, Aran-Orin, Kwara State from 1991-1994.
Prof Ashamo secured appointment as Lecturer III in the Department of Integrated Science, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (now Adeyemi Federal University of Education) in 1994. In his quest for more knowledge, he immediately registered for his PhD at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in 1995. He obtained his PhD in Storage Entomology from FUTA in 2000.
Prof Ashamo was appointed Lecturer II in the Department of Biology, FUTA in 1998 and by dint of hard work rose through the ranks to become Professor in 2010. He had his postdoctoral study at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India between October 2005 and August 2006 where he collaborated with some other scientists to develop varieties of paddy rice, maize, sorghum and wheat that are resistant to stored products insect pests attack.
Prof Ashamo has successfully supervised very many undergraduate projects, over thirty Masters’ theses and six PhD theses. He is currently supervising many students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels including a doctoral thesis. He is an Entomologist and has undertaken several studies on Applied Entomology. His special research interest is in ‘Management and control of stored products insect pests of grains and yam tubers’. He has also contributed to researches in the area of Environmental Biology. He has also successfully attracted research grants worth thousands of dollars to the University from various bodies including TETFund (both NRF and IBR), International Foundation for Science (IFS) and The World Academy of Science (TWAS). He is a beneficiary of some travel grants including DBT-TWAS grant for postdoctoral study at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi and TWAS-ROSSA grant.
Prof Ashamo has published over 80 quality papers in reputable journals across the globe, over 20 conference papers and contribution to books. He has attended conferences both within and outside the country. He has held several positions of responsibility within the University including Sub-Dean, School of Sciences (2005-2007), acting Head of Department of Biology (2007-2009), Editor-in-chief, FUTA Journal of Research in Sciences, FJRS (2012-2016), Head of Department of Biology (2015-2017) and Director, Academic Planning (2017-2019). He is Chairman and member of several committees at the school and University. During his tenure as Director of Academic Planning, all the programmes of the University attained full accreditation status from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Prof Ashamo served as pioneer Dean, School of Life Sciences (2021 – 2025). As pioneer Dean of the school, he has provided both academic and administrative leadership making the school to be among the best in the University. Recently, in 2023, his academic leadership enabled the researchers from the school to win six (6) out of the seventeen (17) Tertiary Education Trust fund’s (Tetfund) National Research Fund (NRF) worth millions of naira. He was also one of the awardees of the NRF TETfund grant for the 2023 cycle.
Prof Ashamo has served as external examiner (PhD and Masters) and assessor (Readers and Professors) to many universities including Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Ibadan, University of Benin, Osun State University, Osogbo, Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, University of Lagos, Federal University of Technology, Minna, The University of the Gambia, University of Ghana, Legon, Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, National University of Lesotho amongst others. He is also a reviewer to several academic and professional journals. He is a member of several professional organizations including Entomological Society of Nigeria (ESN) where he served as Chairman, Akure branch from 2002-2013 and National Secretary from 2011-2016. He is also a fellow of the society. Prof Ashamo is married and blessed with wonderful children. He plays tennis as his hobby.
